As the holidays approach..

I have realized how greatful I am for those around me..my mother whose everlasting love accompanies my every move, my father who provides for my family and loves us all unconditionally, my sister who is timid and has taught me appreciation of quietness and sincerity, and my brother who has taught me, amongst other things, how to value a person not from what they do or say, but for who they are from within.

Most recently, I have learned a different kind of appreciation. Appreciation of letting things take their own course and being patient enough to just let them happen. God has blessed me with the presence of a wonderful young man who is awakening my soul in a completely different form than I have ever felt before...

Every smile of his touches my heart, every conversation full of passion. His mannerism is incredible and his aura is unlike any other. Most of the time when you fall in love, you don't know why, it just kind of happens. This was definitely how I felt at first but now I think I see it all clearly.

Falling in love is beautiful. It starts with the kisses, kind words, sweet surprises and holding hands. But this young man, this young man is way more than all of that. Every single time he speaks I truly am intrigued and I'm at a loss for words. Maybe its the passion he puts into everything he talks about. Maybe its how well educated he is. Maybe its the fact that everytime we have a conversation I learn something that I never knew before. Or maybe its just him.

His drive keeps me motivated and re-assures me that anything is possible. I know that he is going to be a very successful man and when he gets there, I hope to be at his side, cheering and celebrating his victory...

I love the fact that he doesn't want to rush things. In my past I have been very pushy and I'm guilty of trying to make life run a lot faster than necessary. Being his "gal pal" [haha] has really taught me to be patient and just leave everything in God's hands.

He has allowed me to grow as a person and for that I will always be greatful. God has a time and a place for everything and when the time is right, I'm sure that we will make an amazing team.

Baby, I love you.

"Love is patient, love is kind.It does not envy.Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongdoing. It does not delight in evil,But rejoices in the truth. It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves. There is nothing love cannot face; There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance. In a word, there are three things that last forever:Faith, hope, and love; But the greatest of them all is love."

Food for Thought

I am coming to terms with the fact that there really are amazing people in this world.

Growing up one sees the flaws, the drama, the unnecessary that is brought into our lives each and every day. As we grow older, however, we realize that life isn't just about the bad and figuring out how to fix it. Instead, we need to all learn how to grow up and just let things go sometimes. Grudges are unnecessary and life is just more peaceful being a pleasant person. Happy times are ones to be thankful for, and every moment with a loved one should be cherished immensely. I digress...

A wonderful co-worker wrote me this this morning when I sent an e-mail to everyone saying that I wasn't doing Christmas gifts for my co-workers this year because of my trip to Japan in January..

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. II Corinthians 9:7

Maria...

If anyone gives a gift just so that they can get something back then they might as well keep it for themselves. If I ever give you anything, I need you to know that I’m not doing it for you to return the favor. I would be giving it to you because that is what my heart wants to do. You have been good to me. You fed me when I was hungry and gave me open invitation to your food pantry. You have already given me enough gifts. So I said all that to say, if I want to give you a gift, please don’t stop me. Friendship is not about keeping score. It’s about unconditional love and acceptance of people for who and how they are."

What a wonderful way to start the day. It feels good knowing this world still has hope. Thank you Michelle, you're amazing.
